1. How does a client
choose the right hypnotherapist?
Choosing the right health
practitioner is essential for the
peace of mind that will lead to
healing and recovery. Just like any
other relationship the client will
want to feel that it is easy for
them to trust that individual. When
they arrive for their session, the
space should feel comfortable and
inviting. We teach students to
become the type of therapist that
the client can rely on to be
professional. Here are some helpful
questions to consider about a good
hypnotherapist:
- Do they call you back after you
leave a message?
- Do they offer a consultation
before they begin the session?
- Do they encourage you to ask
questions?
- Do they answer your questions
about hypnotherapy knowledgeably and
openly?
- Do they ask you questions that are
relevant to your healing?
- Is your time and privacy
respected?
- How will your sessions be
conducted?
- Are they personalized sessions or
standard scripts that are used over
and over? Some of these may be
appropriate but feel free to ask.
- What are their qualifications?
There are three levels:(Basic
Hypnosis, Master Hypnotist, and
Hypnotherapist)
2. How does
Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnosis can speed up the
healing/change process because
clients will deal directly with the
subconscious mind where most of our
issues reside. This allows for quick
release of blocks, fears, or beliefs
that are holding us back from being
where we wish to be.
3. Will the client
lose control?
The client can expect to feel
utterly relaxed and in complete
control. Hypnotherapist and client
simply work together to put the
client's conscious mind to rest, to
allow the subconscious to make the
changes necessary. The client will
hear everything that either of you
are saying or doing, and they will
never do or say anything in hypnosis
that they would not do out of
hypnosis.
4. Will the
hypnotherapist be able to program
the client in a way that is harmful
to the client?
There are some popular
misconceptions about hypnotherapy,
mostly because we are familiar with
entertainment acts that have
participants run around the stage at
the whim of a hypnotist. This is not
an accurate picture of hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is a healing practice
undertaken by a certified
Hypnotherapist who acts as a
professional and gentle guide for
the client to explore areas of their
subconscious mind in a respectful,
safe environment.
5.
Will the client lose control and
tell personal secrets?
Usually the client is in
control and always has the choice,
talks consciously, be able to select
the suitable words and express by
his/her normal strategy.
However, client may discover some
inner truths about his/ her self, or
situation, or some self sabotage,
which he/ she did not know about
consciously.
6. Will the
hypnotherapist be able to hypnotize
the client without his/her agreement
or knowledge?
Hypnosis is conjunction
action and implemented by
co-operating performance between the
client and the hypnotherapist for
that client agreement and
cooperating is essential
7. What does Hypnotherapy feel
like to the client?
During Hypnotherapy the client will
be in a very deeply relaxed state.
If they have previously practiced
meditation, they will find that this
is a much deeper version of that. If
they have practiced the deep
breathing associated with Yoga, they
will have experienced the beginning
of this deeply relaxed state. The
altered state is something we all
experience daily, the few minutes
that we are waking up in the
morning, and the few moments that we
are drifting off to sleep each
night.
Clients are extremely rested and
calm after a Hypnotherapy session.
8. What if clients
are fearful of what they will see or
experience?
By choosing to undertake this kind
of exploration with a professional
hypnotherapist, clients are
essentially hiring a guide that is
professionally trained to spot
trauma or difficulty. When a client
experiences a fearful situation in
hypnotherapy, there are specific
techniques used by the
hypnotherapist to immediately
distance them from what they are
experiencing. It is like watching a
movie, or listening to the radio
wherein they are an objective
listener, rather than a participant
in the drama. A good hypnotherapist
will know how to recognize signs of
physical or emotional trauma and
will safely guide the client away
from it.
How soon will
clients begin to feel better
Every experience is different.
Generally speaking, the mind usually
takes more than one session to
release significant patterns.
Sometimes patterns can be like
layers on an onion, the next one
appearing after the first is peeled
away. Other times we clear what we
need to immediately.
10. How many times
does a client need to see their
hypnotherapist?
Before we begin with the sessions
the client and hypnotherapist have a
consultation together. During this
consultation the therapist will
determine what the client wants to
work on and at what intensity they
would prefer to proceed. Based on
experience with other clients, we
typically recommend a consultation
plus three to six sessions for
permanent results. There are many
reasons that permanent results may
take more than one session.
Sometimes patterns can take time to
move. Sometimes people find it
difficult to surrender to the
feeling of relaxation or surrender
their existing beliefs about healing
or hypnosis. Some will insist, even
while under hypnosis, that it is
impossible for them to be
hypnotized. The first couple of
sessions are sometimes spent
understanding those feelings.
11. Can it be
combined with other therapies?
We believe in an integrated approach
to wellness. Hypnotherapy is a
gentle and noninvasive therapy that
can be complimentary to many other
therapies. We teach graduates to do
a profile during the consultation
and ask about other therapies that
the client may be undergoing. We
always recommend that they let their
other practitioners know that they
are working with hypnotherapy.
12. Does hypnosis
type sufficient as getting live
session with hypnotherapist?
Type gives repeated
positive suggestions which lead for
noticeable improvement and may lead
to recovery, while the cause of the
problem is still there and may
appear again some day.
